Day 2
Welcome to Manaus
Breakfast
We transfer to the airport for our flight to Manaus. Upon arrival, we are welcomed by our local guide and transferred to our hotel, where we can relax and enjoy our first Amazon evening. Leisure time to explore on our own, depending on our arrival time.
Day 3
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
An Amazon lodge representative will meet us at the hotel for our shared transfer to our lodge in Anavilhanas, a national park and freshwater archipelago made up of over 400 islands in Brazil’s Amazonas state. This is also the largest archipelago of its kind in the world.
From the moment we arrive, we’re captivated by the vibrant and unique flora and fauna. Surrounded by lush forest and breathtaking natural scenery, the region extends an open invitation to embark on a three-night quest of Amazon adventures.
Day 4
Exploration in Brazil Rainforest
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Over the next three days, we enjoy immersive activities designed to connect us with the Amazon’s extraordinary landscapes and rhythms of life. During our stay in the lodge there will be a balance of expeditions and leisure time to enjoy the lodge’s amenities.
The order of the excursions is subject to change and will be coordinated directly by the lodge, the following is a sample itinerary:
Canoeing through flooded forests or Igarapés provides a serene experience as we paddle among trees and along tranquil rivers on board traditional two-person canoes and soak in the changing scenery while listening to the forest’s symphony.
Under the starry sky, a nocturnal wildlife excursion awaits. We will explore the igapós to find nocturnal creatures such as birds, sloths, snakes, and alligators, hidden in the sounds of darkness.
Day 5
Rainforest Expeditions
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today we will navigate a network of canals, lakes, and islands in search of the Amazon’s iconic pink dolphin. During this unforgettable sight, gray river dolphins may be spotted as well. Next, we will try our hand at piranha fishing in the igarapés. During the dry season (September to December), when warmer waters make fishing less viable, we will take a swamp forest walk to observe the contrasts between dryland and flooded forest ecosystems.
Later we will visit a local community to uncover the traditions of Amazonian life: fishing, agriculture, and artisanal crafts. Guided by locals known as “sons of the earth,” this cultural exchange offers insight, stories, and a deep connection to the region.
Day 6
Birdwatching and Rio Negro Boat Tour
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
At dawn, we head out to the islands to enjoy some birdwatching and a peaceful moment of connection with nature as the flocks of birds take flight against the colorful Amazon sky.
Later, we will participate in a dryland forest hike led by local experts. We will explore firm ground forests untouched by floods and learn about native trees, wild fruits, survival techniques, and medicinal herbs passed down through generations.
As the day unfolds, on a boat tour we will discover the channels, lakes and islands of Rio Negro. While we enjoy scenic views, our guide shares stories and interesting facts about what it’s like to live with the river as your main road.
Day 7
Farewell Anavilhanas
