Venture deep into the Ecuadorian Amazon, where pristine rainforests, vibrant wildlife, and indigenous culture come to life. Paddle along hidden creeks, witness dazzling parrot clay licks, and explore the jungle canopy. With expert guides, comfortable lodging, and incredible biodiversity at every turn, this experience offers an unforgettable connection with nature.
Followed by a scenic 30-minute flight from Quito to Coca, our adventure begins with a short transfer to the Napo River pier. A two-hour motorized boat ride takes us deep into the Amazon Rainforest, offering glimpses of exotic birds along the way. We then switch to a traditional dugout canoe, gliding through winding creeks where monkeys, toucans, and macaws can often be spotted on-route to the Napo Wildlife Center, our home in the heart of the rainforest.
Day 2
The Canopy Tower & Jungle Adventure
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we climb a 36-meter canopy tower, gaining a breathtaking view above the treetops. From here, we may spot toucans, macaws, tanagers, and even monkeys moving through the high branches. Following lunch, guests can relax or enjoy birdwatching before an afternoon hike through the lush terra-firme forest, learning about medicinal plants and giant trees. Later, we explore nearby creeks, where we may encounter a family of giant river otters.
Day 3
Parrot Clay Licks & Kichwa Culture
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We begin the day with a visit to the most spectacular parrot clay licks in Ecuador, where thousands of colorful parrots and parakeets gather to feed on mineral-rich clay. Afterward, we continue to the Añangu Kichwa community, where we’ll learn about their traditions, way of life, and conservation efforts. Following lunch at the Napo Cultural Center, we return to the lodge, arriving just in time to enjoy a sunset over the lagoon before dinner.
Day 4
Jungle Trek & Wildlife Encounters
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, we venture into the rainforest along the Tiputini Trail, searching for golden-mantled tamarins, capuchin monkeys, sloths, and other elusive creatures. After lunch and some rest, we paddle through hidden creeks, increasing our chances of spotting unique bird species and nocturnal wildlife. In the evening, we gather for a discussion about the region’s biodiversity, the local community, and the conservation efforts that make this experience possible.
Day 5
Farewell to the Rainforest
Breakfast
As our journey comes to an end, we take one last canoe excursion, hoping for final glimpses of giant otters and monk saki monkeys. Then, we board the motorized canoe for our return trip down the Napo River to Coca, where we will catch our flight back to Quito.
