Day 2
Exploring Rio De Janeiro
Breakfast
Our guide meet us at the hotel and we’ll head out to explore the “Marvelous City”, its iconic landmarks and its wonderful residents, the Cariocas.
The first stop is at the legendary Maracana Stadium, originally built for the 1950 FIFA World Cup, it hosted one of the most memorable finals in football history. We explore behind the scenes of the press tribune, locker rooms, and VIP areas. At the museum, we admire stunning memorabilia of football legends.
We continue to the Port Area to witness the impressive architecture and vibrant afro-brazilian cultural expressions. At Pedra do Sal, the birthplace of samba, we admire the mural by Eduardo Kobra, one of the largest graffiti artworks in the world. Then we put on our “dancing shoes” to discover the history and traditions of samba in a lively workshop led by a professional “passista”. This Carnival Experience takes place in a traditional samba school, where we learn about the creative process behind this big celebration while trying on authentic costumes and moving our feet to the tunes of traditional instruments.
Later, we visit one of Rio’s most iconic landmarks, Sugar Loaf Mountain, where we take a cable car from the charming neighborhood of Urca. At the summit, we enjoy breathtaking views of the city’s beaches, mountains, and coastline. We return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 3
Brazilian Food Tour
Breakfast, Lunch
Today, we discover the soul of this region through its flavors, textures, and aromas. Brazilian cuisine is a vibrant fusion of Indigenous, African, and Portuguese influences, where each dish will tell you a story.
In the company of a local foodie guide, we explore lively street markets with colorful stalls showcasing tropical fruits, Amazonian ingredients and local products and spices. Be prepared to sample exotic drinks and juices and uncover beloved specialties enjoyed in everyday life. We continue to a selection of hidden gems, including traditional bars and small family-run venues known mostly by locals. Throughout this experience, we will gain insight into Brazil’s food culture, as well as its street art and daily life, making this a flavourful way to connect with the city.
