Nestled among towering Andean peaks, Quito greets us with open arms for the start of an unforgettable travel experience. Upon arrival, we‘ll be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel, where we can relax and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
Day 2
Quito & Middle of the World

Step into Quito’s UNESCO-listed historic center, where colonial charm meets vibrant culture. We will walk along cobblestone streets lined with colorful facades and explore iconic landmarks like the golden La Compañía de Jesús, the neo-Gothic Basílica del Voto Nacional, or the grand San Francisco Church. At Panecillo Hill, we take in sweeping views of Quito’s rooftops and surrounding mountains, followed by an immersive experience as we cross into the equatorial line at the Middle of the World and learn how the Geodesic Mission determined Earth’s shape. Let’s explore the fascinating mysteries of latitude 0°.
Day 3
Otavalo: Andean Heritage
Breakfast, Lunch
A scenic drive through the northern highlands is the start of our day. We make a short stop in Guayllabamba to sample the exotic chirimoya fruit. Vast flower plantations and freshly baked goods await us in Cayambe. Later, at San Pablo Lake, we will marvel at the reflection of Imbabura Volcano upon arrival at the famous Otavalo market, where we will wander through vibrant stalls brimming with Andean textiles, handwoven crafts, local treasures, and colorful art pieces. A visit to a family-run workshop to witness the intricate art of traditional weaving is followed by a delightful local lunch. Finally, we will head to Cuicocha Crater Lake and Cotacahi to capture more breathtaking Andean landscapes.
Day 4
Cotopaxi National Park & Ecuadorian Roses

Today we will head south of Quito towards the Avenue of the Volcanoes, stopping at a bustling Andean market to experience local flavors and traditions. At Cotopaxi National Park, we will admire as many iconic landmarks as time and energy permit, such as Limpiopungo Lake, a hike to the first basecamp for a rewarding view, or the Inca ruins of Pucará Del Salitre or discover the wildlife at Owls Cave. Later, we will visit a rose plantation to learn about Ecuador’s renowned blooms before settling into our accommodations.
Day 5
Quilotoa & Tigua Workshop
Breakfast, Lunch
After breakfast, we will explore the trails of a traditional hacienda, choosing between horseback riding or biking amid stunning landscapes. Our journey continues to the breathtaking Quilotoa Crater Lake, where we will take in the striking turquoise waters and choose between scenic hikes to different viewpoints. In the afternoon, we will visit Tigua, admiring its vibrant art and woodwork before continuing to Baños.
Day 6
Baños: Waterfalls & Scenic Views

We will visit the spectacular Devil’s Cauldron and Mantle of the Bride waterfalls, marveling at their power and beauty. From a scenic viewpoint, we will admire Tungurahua volcano and the lush valleys, then stop at the famous Swing at the end of the world. After exploring Baños’ charming streets and tasting handmade ‘melcocha’ candy, we will continue our journey south toward Riobamba, where we will rest for the night.
Day 7
History en-route: Ingapirca Ruins & First built church
Breakfast, Lunch
We will continue our journey south, passing through indigenous villages that reveal the region’s rich history. Our first stop is La Balbanera, Ecuador’s oldest church, standing since 1534 with its original stone facade. Nearby, we will admire the serene Colta Lagoon, where traditional homes offer a glimpse into local life. Later, we will explore Ingapirca, Ecuador’s largest Inca ruins, where the remains of an ancient fortress tell the story of the Inca and Cañari civilizations. Today’s journey ends in Cuenca, a colonial city brimming with charm.
Day 8
Cuenca, the gem of southern Ecuador

Today, we explore Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage city where colonial charm meets modern creativity. Stroll through its cobbled streets, admire the blue-domed cathedral, and visit museums showcasing pre-Hispanic and contemporary art. Enjoy breathtaking city views, follow scenic river trails, and discover the art of hat-making at a Panama hat workshop—an excellent chance to take home an iconic Ecuadorian souvenir.
Day 9
Moorlands & Cacao Experience

Our journey from the Andean highlands to Guayaquil begins with a visit to Cajas National Park, a breathtaking landscape of lakes, moorlands, and Polylepis forests. Capture stunning views of Ecuador’s western Andes before descending to the coast to visit a family-run cacao farm, where we witness the fascinating process of crafting world-renowned Ecuadorian chocolate. After a delicious farm-to-table lunch, we will continue to Guayaquil for a hotel drop-off.
