We will explore the lush cloud forest, experience the thrill of zip-lining, visit a cacao farm, and wander through Otavalo’s vibrant market. From artisan workshops to the stunning Cuicocha Crater Lake, this adventure blends nature, tradition, and unforgettable scenery.
We will depart Quito and journey into the lush cloud forest, stopping at reserves where hummingbirds and butterflies thrive. As we explore the trails, we’ll admire orchids, bromeliads, and learn about conservation efforts. For an adrenaline rush, we can cross hanging bridges or zip-line through the treetops. After lunch in Mindo, we will visit a family-run cacao farm to experience the chocolate-making process before relaxing at a charming lodge.
Day 2
Otavalo Market

We will start the day at a butterfly sanctuary before taking a scenic cable car ride above Mindo’s valleys. A short Tarabita ride will take us over the canopy to a trail leading to a stunning waterfall, where we can swim or take photos. In the afternoon, we will travel to Otavalo, pausing at a viewpoint of San Pablo Lake and Imbabura volcano. We’ll then explore Otavalo’s vibrant market, discovering colorful textiles, artisan crafts, and lively Andean music.
Day 3
Cotacachi & Cuicocha
Breakfast, Lunch Box
We will begin our day in Peguche, a town known for its skilled weavers, where we’ll visit artisan workshops and watch them at work. In Cotacachi, we’ll stroll through cobbled streets, browsing fine leather boutiques. Next, we will marvel at Cuicocha Crater Lake’s deep blue waters and volcanic islands. Our journey concludes with a delightful lunch at a historic hacienda before we return to Quito, bringing home unforgettable memories of the Ecuadorian Andes.
