Welcome to Colombia! Upon arrival in Bogotá, a private transfer will take us to our luxurious hotel in the heart of the city. Sitting at 2,600 meters above sea level, Bogotá is a dynamic blend of colonial history, modernity, and cultural richness. The historic district of La Candelaria is home to vibrant markets, national monuments, and architectural gems. We will settle in at our boutique hotel, a beautifully restored colonial mansion, where we will rest and prepare for the adventures ahead.
Day 2
City tour of Bogotá

After breakfast, we will set out to explore Bogotá’s most iconic landmarks. At Cerro de Monserrate, we will take in breathtaking views of the city below before marveling at the art collection of master Fernando Botero. We will wander through La Candelaria’s colorful streets, where colonial facades and lively cafés bring history to life. At Bolívar Square, we will admire the grand Primatial Cathedral and the National Capitol. A delicious local lunch will introduce us to traditional dishes like ajiaco and bandeja paisa before returning to the hotel.
Day 3
Bogotá – Villa de Leyva

This morning, we will pick up our rental vehicle and begin our journey to Villa de Leyva (160 km – 3.5 hours). Along the way, we can stop to visit the awe-inspiring Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a masterpiece of religious architecture carved within an active salt mine dating back to 1801.
Upon arrival in Villa de Leyva, we will step into one of Colombia’s most enchanting colonial towns, where cobblestone streets and whitewashed buildings transport us to another era. The afternoon is free to relax and take in the town’s serene charm.
Optional Tour: Join us for a walking tour that traces the town’s fascinating history, from colonial times through the republic and into the present day. We will visit historical landmarks, monasteries, and notable residences, each telling a story of Villa de Leyva’s cultural evolution.
Beyond the town, breathtaking landscapes await. Whether on foot, by bike, or on horseback, the surrounding mountains hide waterfalls, caves, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Day 4
Villa de Leyva – Barichara

Today, we set off towards Barichara (182 km – 4.5 hours), often called the most beautiful town in Colombia. With its impeccably preserved colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and Andalusian-style homes, Barichara is a true gem and a designated Heritage Town of Colombia.
Upon arrival, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure—take a self-guided stroll, visit the local artisan workshops, or simply relax in one of its charming plazas.
Optional Tour: In the afternoon, we will take a guided walking tour to uncover the stories behind Barichara’s historical sites. We will visit the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, a stunning sandstone church marking the town’s founding, and admire the colonial facades that give Barichara its timeless appeal.
Day 5
Day at Leisure in Barichara

Today is yours to soak in Barichara’s tranquil beauty. Wander through its picturesque streets, discover its hidden corners, or indulge in the local cuisine at a cozy café.
Optional Tour: Camino Real to Guane For those seeking adventure, we will embark on a scenic 7 km (2-3 hour) hike along the historic Camino Real, an ancient route once traveled by the Muisca, Chibcha, and Guane communities. This cobblestone path, later paved during colonial times, offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys. Upon reaching Guane, we will explore its quaint streets and visit its small yet fascinating museum before returning to Barichara.
Day 6
Barichara to Medellín

We say goodbye to the charm of Barichara as we head in our transfer to the Bucaramanga airport for our Medellin flight.
Medellín, the “City of Eternal Spring.” Once infamous for its turbulent past, Medellín has transformed into a beacon of innovation and resilience. Upon arrival, we will be transferred directly to our hotel and have the rest of the day to explore at leisure.
Day 7
Medellín & Comuna 13 Tour

We embark on a journey through Medellín’s transformation, starting at Parque de la Inflexión, a poignant tribute to the city’s past. At Plaza Botero, we admire the whimsical sculptures of renowned artist Fernando Botero before riding the Metrocable for stunning city views. The highlight of the day is Comuna 13, a once-troubled neighborhood that has blossomed into a vibrant hub of street art, music, and community spirit.
Day 8
Tour to Santa Fe de Antioquia

An early departure takes us to Santa Fe de Antioquia (65 km – 90 minutes), a colonial treasure founded in 1541 along the Cauca River. Once the capital of Antioquia, this historic town is home to well-preserved Spanish architecture and was declared a National Monument.
We will explore Santa Fe’s main plaza, stroll its cobbled streets lined with colonial-era buildings, and visit its impressive cathedral, built in 1799. After a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, we return to Medellín in the afternoon.
Day 9
Medellín – Jardín

This morning, we bid farewell to Medellín and journey south to Jardín (128 km – 3 hours), a hidden gem nestled in Colombia’s coffee region.
Known for its colorful colonial architecture, vibrant plazas, and lush green surroundings, Jardín is considered one of the most picturesque towns in Antioquia. The day is free to settle in, soak up the tranquil atmosphere, and admire the town’s beautifully painted balconies adorned with flowers.
Day 10
Jardín – Coffee Region (Pereira)

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the charming town of Jardín and we will enjoy a scenic car ride of about 5 hours to the heart of Colombia’s Coffee Region. Upon arrival, a private transfer brings us to a beautiful hacienda, our home for the next few nights. Surrounded by lush coffee plantations and rolling green hills, this UNESCO-listed landscape invites us to slow down and embrace the rhythm of nature.
Day 11
Cocora Valley, Salento & Filandia

Today, we will explore the breathtaking Cocora Valley, home to Colombia’s national tree, the wax palm. Towering up to 60 meters high, these iconic palms create a surreal landscape you won’t forget. Stroll through lush cloud forests and take in breathtaking views of the Andean foothills. Next, you’ll visit Salento and Filandia, two vibrant towns famous for their colorful colonial architecture and artistic atmosphere. Walk along cobblestone streets, visit artisan workshops, and soak in the authentic charm of these coffee towns. Enjoy a traditional Colombian lunch before returning to your hacienda for a relaxing evening.
Day 12
Exploring the Towns of the Mountain Range

Today, you’ll venture off the beaten path to the charming towns of Pijao and Buenavista. Ride through scenic mountain roads in a classic Willys Jeep, the traditional transport of the Coffee Region. In Pijao, a Cittaslow town promoting sustainable living, you’ll experience a slower pace of life, meet friendly locals, and learn about organic coffee farming at Café La Floresta. In Buenavista, you’ll be welcomed by a passionate coffee grower who will share their inspiring journey from coffee picker to producer. Savor a freshly brewed cup of coffee while taking in sweeping views of the valley before heading back to your hacienda.
Day 13
Welcome to Cartagena

A private transfer takes us to Matecaña International Airport in Pereira, where we board a direct flight to Cartagena de Indias. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel inside the historic walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cartagena enchants with its cobbled streets, colonial mansions, and centuries-old stone walls stretching 13 km along the Caribbean coast. The city is a vibrant blend of history and modernity, where colorful facades and bustling plazas tell stories of its rich past.

Tour of the Historic Center & Getsemaní

This morning, we set off on a guided exploration of Cartagena’s historic center and the vibrant neighborhood of Getsemaní. We will wander through one of the best-preserved colonial districts in the Americas, where churches, monasteries, and grand mansions showcase the city’s opulent past. As we make our way through Getsemaní’s lively streets, we will witness a unique blend of authentic local culture and colorful urban art.
From elegant plazas and ancient churches to hidden alleys covered in murals, Cartagena’s past and present merge in an experience rich with history and charm.
