On deck, we can spot soaring albatross and petrels, or relax in the social areas of the ship, sharing excitement with fellow travelers. The rhythm of the waves, the knowledge gained, and the crisp ocean air all build anticipation for our first landing.

The Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands) greet us with their rugged beauty and teeming wildlife. Daily landings introduce us to both East Falkland and West Falkland, where rolling landscapes, windswept shores, and diverse birdlife await.

In Stanley, the charming capital, British heritage blends with island life—visit the cathedral, explore museums, or enjoy a pint in a local pub. Beyond town, the Falklands offer prime wildlife encounters, from colonies of gentoo, Magellanic, and rockhopper penguins to the elusive king penguin. We must remember to keep your binoculars ready for black-browed albatross soaring above or the endemic Cobb’s wren flitting through the coastal vegetation.

As we continue south, the ship sails deeper into Antarctic waters. The days at sea offer a mix of learning, relaxation, and wildlife spotting. Engage in more expert-led lectures on polar exploration, marine ecosystems, and photography. Outside, scan the horizon for whales breaching or seabirds gliding effortlessly on the wind.

South Georgia is a land of towering mountains, dramatic fjords, and an astonishing density of wildlife. This island, once a whaling hub, now stands as a sanctuary where nature reclaims its space.

A key stop is Grytviken, where we pay homage to legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton at his final resting place. Nearby, remnants of old whaling stations whisper tales of the past.

Over these days, we explore a range of landing sites and Zodiac excursions, encountering Adélie, gentoo, and chinstrap penguins, as well as seals basking on ice floes. Icebergs, sculpted by wind and water, create a surreal backdrop to every moment.

Zodiac cruises take us close to Weddell seals lounging on ice, while humpback whales, and perhaps even orcas, grace us with their presence. For those seeking a thrill, there’s the chance to paddle among the icebergs (optional extra excursion) or put reason aside to dive into Antarctic waters with the legendary Polar Plunge!

The time has come to bid farewell to Antarctica. As we cross the Drake Passage, the ocean reminds us of the untamed nature of this region. Back in Ushuaia, it’s time to part ways with our Expedition Team and newfound friends. For those with early flights, transfer to the airport is provided, while others may choose to explore more of Tierra del Fuego before heading home.
